About Natures Valley — Surf Local Knowledge
Nature's Valley is a secluded village cradled between the Tsitsikamma mountains, indigenous forest, the Groot River lagoon and a long white beach, within the Garden Route National Park at the eastern end of the region. It is a tranquil, family-oriented spot rather than a surf hub.
The beach offers a gentle beach break that can provide fun, forgiving waves for beginners and longboarders on small, clean swells, working best on light offshore winds. The calm, shallow Groot River lagoon at the western end is ideal for safe swimming and paddling. When the swell picks up, the open beach develops rips and undertow, so read the water carefully and keep beginners near the lagoon.
